Streamer Vitaly Tsal, widely known by his nickname Papich, has shared his impressions of the latest update to Counter‑Strike 2 and proposed a concrete change he believes would improve the game. In his assessment he praised some of the developers' decisions but also questioned others, and suggested adding the ability to purchase spare magazines with ammunition at the buy zone.
According to Papich, the patch contains several sensible adjustments but still needs better overall balance. He noted that the revolver received a significant boost and can now compete with the Desert Eagle, while the M4A1‑S appears to have received an increase in ammunition. At the same time, he pointed out that the automatic sniper lost nearly half of its magazine capacity, a change he finds puzzling.
On that basis he urged the developers to implement purchasable magazines at the base: magazines that players could buy for a noticeable cost rather than for a token price. His rationale is that such an option would give teams and individual players more strategic depth and would mitigate some of the harsher penalties created by reductions in weapon magazine sizes.
The update itself was released in the night of March 19. Among the notable mechanical changes, the developers made it so that any unused bullets left in a weapon's magazine are now permanently lost when the player reloads. In addition, the patch allows players to enable grenade lineup guides on competitive maps during the first five rounds of a match, offering assistance with utility placement early in games.
Papich summed up that the update moves the game in a generally positive direction but requires finer tuning. He reiterated his suggestion to add purchasable magazines so that reductions in magazine sizes feel less punitive and allow for more tactical choices during matches.
