Streaming service Hulu has announced a continuation of the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, confirming the premiere date as April 10, 2026.
The revival is titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life Still Isn't Fair, a subtitle that references the original show's theme song. The follow-up will be a short four-episode series, and most of the principal actors are returning, including Bryan Cranston.
According to the announced synopsis, Malcolm now appears to be living an ideal life; the truth is that he has spent more than a decade hiding from his family. That fragile comfort is threatened when his parents compel him to attend their fortieth wedding anniversary.
The original Malcolm in the Middle aired from 2000 to 2006 and chronicled the misadventures of a gifted boy growing up in a struggling household. The show remains well regarded by viewers, holding an 8.2 out of 10 rating on IMDb and a 7.7 out of 10 score on Kinopoisk.
