Indonesian organization BOOM Esports announces closure of its Dota 2 division after appearances at two Internationals

Indonesian esports organization BOOM Esports has announced that it is closing its Dota 2 division. The club published a statement on its official social media channels confirming the decision and thanking everyone involved with the project.

In the announcement the organization said goodbye to the Dota 2 team, calling the period one filled with passion, challenges and lasting memories. The message expressed gratitude to every player who proudly wore the BOOM jersey and to fans who stood by the squad through highs and lows.

The statement made clear that while this chapter is ending, BOOM Esports intends to continue its broader presence in esports and hinted at new ventures ahead. The club asked supporters to stay tuned for future developments.

BOOM Esports was founded in 2017. During its existence the team qualified for The International on two occasions, participating in the tournaments in 2022 and 2025. According to Liquipedia, the organization’s total prize earnings in Dota 2 have surpassed $1.6 million.

Earlier reports indicated that the same roster might appear at DreamLeague Season 27 under the tag Team Nemesis. That possibility had been discussed publicly prior to the formal announcement about the division’s closure.

The club’s farewell reiterated appreciation for the players and the community and framed the move as the end of one era rather than the end of BOOM Esports as an organization, promising that new projects and adventures are still to come.
