South Korean pop quartet BLACKPINK has announced the upcoming release of their third extended play, titled "Deadline." The group said the mini-album is scheduled to arrive on February 27; a brief teaser for the release was shared on the members' official social media channels. Details such as the tracklist and additional collaborators have not yet been disclosed.
"Deadline" will be BLACKPINK's first group project since their last full-length album, Born Pink, which was released in 2022. The new EP marks the group's return to collective releases after a period in which individual members focused on solo activities.
Formed in South Korea in 2016, BLACKPINK consists of four performers known by their mononyms: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. Across their career the group’s albums have reached leading positions on music charts in the United States, the United Kingdom and multiple other markets, establishing them as one of the most internationally successful K-pop acts.
In addition to group output, the members have pursued solo careers: between 2024 and 2025 they released their respective debut solo albums while remaining part of BLACKPINK. The announcement of "Deadline" has renewed attention on the quartet’s future plans and on how the new material will fit alongside their solo work.
