29-year-old professional Dota 2 player Arthur "Arteezy" Babaev spoke about the possibility of resuming his competitive career in an interview with RosesaGaming. He discussed his attitude toward rejoining the pro scene and assessed his present level of play.
On the prospect of putting together a new team, Babaev was measured: "I wouldn't say I'm actively looking for a team. It's an informal process. If the right group of players appears, I'll try. But I like my life right now." He acknowledged a willingness to return if circumstances align, rather than pursuing a roster by force.
He admitted that he misses aspects of professional play — competing on stage and participating in tournaments — but tempered that with perspective: failing to assemble a suitable lineup would not be catastrophic for him personally.
Babaev also evaluated his current in-game form fairly candidly. "I don't think I'm in top shape. Honestly, right now I'd rate it a 3 out of 10. I need to work a lot, but I've started training again and putting more effort into the game," he said, expressing confidence that a return to a competitive level is possible.
He added that if he felt incapable of reaching a competitive standard, he would have moved on to other pursuits. Despite acknowledging low form at the moment, he believes it is realistic to regain a level where he can feel competitive.
Arteezy began his Dota 2 career in 2013 and over the years has finished among the top places at numerous major international events. In July 2024, Babaev entered an inactive status from professional competition.
